We did not have access to sufficient PPE's and we were also not able to procure it outside for our use due to the limited stocks and huge demand. So we were all going to hospitals with cloth masks and zero protection. During this crisis, I personally did not have a single N95 mask and was struggling to purchase them. As soon as I registered on the website for the need, I got a reply that was heartening really. I received the said masks within a week of ordering.

Direct2Doctors: Over 8500 masks donated in phase1 across TN, Kerala, Maharashtra, UP

Phase 1 distributions CBB phase 1 campaign included deliveries of over 8500 masks (including over 1500 KN95 respirators, 1000 reusable surgical masks, and 6000 disposable 3-ply surgical masks) directly to doctors and healthcare personnel working at primary health centers, rural hospitals, government hospitals, cancer institutes, eye clinics, respiratory medicine units, children’s hospital, medical colleges, outpatient clinics, and university hospitals. As shown in the image from the top left - Dr. Revathi Madhubalan from the primary health center in Kullanchavadi received 150 KN95 masks and 1000 surgical masks. Dr. Davasunmani from the Attur government hospital received 100 KN95 respirators and 100 surgical masks. In light of increasing COVID-19 cases, most health care centers found themselves in a huge need of beds. Adapting to the needs, CBB collaborated with Safe Corrugated Containers Private Limited - who designed innovative paper-based beds using proprietary paper honeycomb and corrugation technologies. The bed weighs around 13 kg and can comfortably sleep patients weighing up to 150 Kg. It is designed to handle associated impact loads while transferring the patient on and off the bed. Currently, the beds have been dispatched to eight PHCs (primary health care centers) in Vadalur, Kurinjipadi, and Vridhachalam.
